About Dr Rudi Labuschagne
As a trained theologian and ordained minister, I spent more than two decades in service. After a profound shift in spiritual perspective, I quit the ministry. I recently published a book in Afrikaans, “Dit is verby”, in which I indicate the reasons for doing so. I subsequently launched a coaching and consulting business. Besides coaching and consulting I am also an adjunct lecturer in the leadership module of the MBA program at Milpark Business School.
During my time in the Ministry, I realised that theology and organised religion often fall short in providing answers to some important philosophical questions like: “Who am I?”, “Where do I come from?”, “Why am I here?”, and “Where am I going?” I am on a life-long quest to find answers to these questions but came to realise the power of thought and how detrimental the false belief that humans are born sinners and inherently bad are. I share the view that we are not human beings having spiritual experiences, but spiritual beings having human experiences. This profound shift in identity opens up new avenues for being human.
I approach and view my clients and all people as such. Much of my work with clients is to help them unlearn the limiting beliefs they hold about themselves and to encourage and guide them to embrace their divinity. I encourage clients to live authentically by aligning themselves with their True North in their quest for meaning and reason for being.
Although I don`t identify myself with any organised religion, I view myself as deeply spiritual and allow myself to be guided by universal laws and principles.
Academically, I hold degrees in psychology, theology, and counselling, and obtained a doctorate in leadership with a focus on performance and change.
